What We Do
Our Work
Tanzania Albino Society (TAS) supports people with albinism and their families while increasing public awareness on albinism and advocating for their rights. Our works are mainly in the following areas:
Advocacy and Awareness Raising
TAS advances the rights of persons with albinism by promoting inclusion, challenging stigma, and educating communities nationwide. We lead national awareness events and continue advocating for stronger recognition, protection, and global visibility for people with albinism.
Education
TAS improves access to education by providing learning aids, sun-protection gear, and school support for children with albinism. We train teachers, engage families, promote inclusive classrooms, and work to ensure every child enjoys equal opportunity and educational safety.
Empowerment and Partnerships
TAS strengthens livelihoods by supporting entrepreneurship, skills training, and community economic initiatives. Through partnerships, we connect people with albinism to income opportunities, build confidence, and enhance long-term wellbeing for individuals and families across Tanzania.
Health
TAS promotes health and safety by supporting screenings, treatment, and early care for skin cancer. We raise public awareness on prevention and distribute sunscreen, hats, and protective gear, ensuring people with albinism receive essential care and continued protection.
